About the District Student Council
.The District Student Council (DSC) is a transformative initiative aimed at empowering Black, African, and Caribbean youth in British Columbia. Our mission is to cultivate leadership skills, inspire advocacy, and create a supportive network for students. We want to engage students in meaningful discussions and develop actionable solutions. The DSC strives to address community issues and promote educational equity across the region.
Key Features of the DSC Program
Comprehensive Leadership, policy and legal Training
Our program offers to build leadership skills that will prepare you for future opportunities. Collaborate with other youth leaders across BC to tackle community issues with essential leadership, policy, and legal skills.
Provincial Collaboration Tools
We provide Komino platform and resources to facilitate collaboration among students provincial wide, fostering a united front against systemic challenges. Gain access to mentorship, career-building tools, and professional resources.
Celebrating Black Canadian Contributions
Highlighting the achievements and roles of Black Canadians in shaping our society, inspiring future generations to continue the legacy.

We are recruiting youth leaders who are:
- Active in Black Student Unions, school councils, or youth organizations.
- Committed to community engagement and passionate about addressing issues like discrimination, educational equity, and social justice.
- Ready to take on leadership roles and develop skills to make meaningful changes in their schools and communities.

Student Leadership Event
The BC Community Alliance, in partnership with the Federation of Black Canadians is pleased to launch the Youth Take Charge Initiative, a unique platform designed to empower Black, African, and Caribbean youth across British Columbia. It provides opportunities for students to develop leadership skills, collaborate on community issues, and connect with national networks to address critical social challenges such as discrimination and inequality.
