Engineering the Next Generation of Black Excellence

The BCCA Venture Hub

From 5-Star Foundation to a 1,000 Sq. Ft. Innovation Engine

The BCCA is building on the 5-star success of our Support For Student Learning Program (SSLP), which has served over 120 gifted youth. We are proud to announce the permanent expansion of the BCCA Venture Hub.

With 2026–2027 backing from our partners, we are operationalizing a new circular-economy innovation space at the BYRC, designed specifically for Black youth to move from “resiliency” to ownership.

The Spring Cohort (Feb–March): Launch, Sell, and Earn We are now enrolling youth (ages 14–24) into our Starter and Builder tier programming. This is a 9-week, hands-on launchpad where participants don’t just learn about businesses; they run them.

  • Real Assets: Access our new 1,000 sq. ft. studio, commercial kitchens, and professional media equipment.

  • Real Capital: Receive seed funding and micro-grants to move your MVP to market.

  • Real Revenue: Deploy your venture through youth-run café carts, school pop-ups, and partner retail shelves across Vancouver and Surrey.

Four Tracks to Ownership

  1. Music & Sound Engineering Lab: Master the vocal booth and mixing console. Founders learn the “business of music,” from royalty structures and distribution to licensing their own IP for commercial use.

  2. 🎬 Media & Storytelling Lab Take the mic at our program space. Produce podcasts, digital series, and branded content that powers Community Network TV. Control the narrative while building brand equity for your venture.

  3. 🍽️ Food Innovation Lab Turn your culinary concept into a revenue stream. Use our BYRC commercial kitchen and mobile café carts to launch food and beverage pilots with real customers.

  4. 🛍️ Product Innovation Studio Build, brand, prototype, and sell. From beauty products to retail goods, we provide the “Builder Membership” tools, including retail carts and refill/repair clinics, to get your product on shelves.

The BCCA Venture Network: Infrastructure for Ownership

Connecting Cities, Engineering Systems Change

Our multi-city venture network is more than a collection of spaces; it is a circular economy designed to replace the “resiliency” narrative with actual infrastructure for Black youth wealth. By operationalizing shared assets across Metro Vancouver, we move beyond business simulations into a Learn → Earn → Return system that ensures community success is self-sustaining.

  • The BYRC Node (Vancouver): Product & Retail Innovation Serving as our flagship for physical goods, the Broadway Youth Resource Centre is 15,000 sq. ft. with a 1,000 sq. ft. engine for product ventures. Here, youth founders access commercial kitchens, beauty and retail prototyping tools, and custom café carts to launch market-ready brands and generate revenue from week one.

  • The Surrey Partner Hub: Scaling Retail Access Launching soon, the Surrey Node expands our reach through strategic retail pilots. By connecting youth ventures to school pop-ups and partner retail shelves, we provide the distribution channels necessary to scale products from local ideas to regional staples.

  • 520 Alexander Studio (Vancouver): Media & Narrative Power The 520 Alexander Studio is our media production powerhouse. It provides the professional platform for podcasting, digital series, and live showcases that power Community Network TV. This is where our ventures tell their own stories, building the brand equity required for long-term growth.

The Circular Commitment This network is powered by the Community Venture Fund. We provide the initial spark through non-dilutive grants and accelerator capital.

In return, ventures ready to scale commit to a 5% equity-style reinvestment back into the fund. Once a venture has paid back 3x the initial support, their commitment is complete. These returns stay within the community to fund staff salaries and the next generation of founders, ensuring our ecosystem never has to rely on charity to thrive.

Our “Circular Deal” is simple: We provide the capital (non-dilutive grants or accelerator funding), and you provide the growth. Once you hit your stride, you contribute 5% of your equity/revenue back to our fund until you’ve paid it forward 3x over. You aren’t just building a business; you’re sustaining the community that backed you.

Youth Build Ventures

Founders leverage professional-grade infrastructure from commercial kitchens to retail carts to launch revenue-ready brands, moving beyond business simulations into tangible ownership pathways

Ventures Generate Revenue

Our ventures move beyond simulations to drive real income through a 1,000 sq. ft. innovation engine at the BYRC.

When leveraging retail pilots and professional media production, youth founders scale brands that fulfill a 3x return commitment.

Reinvestment Fuels the Fund

BCCA has replaced extraction with a circular ‘Learn-Earn-Return’ model.

By reinvesting 5% of their success back into the Community Venture Fund until a 3x return cap is reached, our founders directly fund the Hub’s staff and the next generation of Black-led ventures.

The Cycle Expands

The Learn → Earn → Return model ensures our ecosystem is self-sustaining. This reinvestment strategy isn’t just about growth;

It’s about youth founders funding the next generation of kitchens, retail carts, and capital for the ventures following in their footsteps.

The Community Venture Fund

The Community Venture Fund is the engine of a self-sustaining circular economy, designed to replace the “resiliency” narrative with the physical infrastructure of ownership. Rather than traditional extractive investment, the Fund provides non-dilutive micro-grants ($500–$5,000) and strategic accelerator capital ($10,000–$50,000) to move ventures from prototype to profit.

BCCA utilizes the “Learn → Earn → Return” model, market-ready ventures commit to reinvesting 5% of their revenue back into the fund. This commitment is capped once 3x the initial support is repaid, ensuring that wealth stays with the founder while the “return” directly sustains the Hub’s staff salaries and the 1,000 sq. ft. of innovation assets at the BYRC. This approach transforms individual entrepreneurial success into a permanent, youth-led economic foundation.
